Out of the Fire Glass Studio - The Artist

My passion for working with glass was birthed in 1985, after asking a friend of the family to recreate a window for me from the Avery Coonley Playhouse designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. She told me she was too busy to accommodate my request and suggested I take a class. What a gift that turned out to be!

After a basic class in foil techniques and 9 months later a class in lead I was off and running. I created doors, windows, and sidelights for friends, family, and the occasional commissioned request. My work found its way into offices, restaurants, and private residences. In 1994 I attended a class in glass fusing and worked with this method for six months and then set it all down to spend time with my family and focus on my career.

In January 2005, my zeal to work with glass started to burn again. So I cleared the worktable, dusted off the kiln and what came Out of the Fire is being presented on this website. This is only the beginning of something new that is being refined by the fire so, I invite you to check back often.

Thank you,

Lloyd Ryan
